State seeks support on investment, local content promotion
Osun State Governor, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, yesterday, said his administration had changed the narrative of the state from a civil service state to a bouyant one.
He said that economic diversification had been one of the drivers of his administration, with agriculture, tourism and mining being the important diversification instruments.
This, according to him, informed the decision to organise the Osun Economic Summit in 2019, which brought critical stakeholders and potential investors to the state.
Oyetola, while fielding questions during a live broadcast as Guest of the Month on the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC), assured that in a matter of years, Osun would thrive significantly in mining.
The live appearance was part of events marking the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation.
ALSO, the state Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Olalekan Badmus, has urged citizens both at home and in the Diaspora to facilitate more development in the state by investing and promoting local contents.
Badmus, in a statement, said there had been times when the decency on federal allocation was absolute for the survival of all and other times when agriculture was the only way. He attributed the success recorded to the fact that citizens had remained virtuous, steadfast and committed to development of the state.
